RPF launched “Operation Thirst”
To curb the menace of unauthorized PDW (PACKAGED DRINKING WATER) in Railway premises, an all India drive named 'Operation Thirst' was launched.
In the drive all the Zonal Principal Chief Security Commissioners (PCSC) were asked to crackdown these unauthorised activities.
During the drive, 1371 persons were arrested for selling of packaged drinking water of unauthorised brands.
Cabinet approves Transgender Persons Bill 2019
The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to introduce The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2019.
The Bill provides a mechanism for their social, economic and educational empowerment.
The Bill will benefit a large number of transgender persons, mitigate the stigma, discrimination and abuse against this marginalized section and bring them into the mainstream of society.
'Code on Occupational Safety' approved
The Cabinet has approved for introduction of the Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Bill, 2019 in the Parliament.
The decision will enhance the coverage of the safety, health and working conditions provisions manifold as compared to the present scenario.
The New Code has been drafted after amalgamation of the relevant provisions of the 13 Central Labour acts.
Deposits in PMJDY crosses Rs 1 lakh crore
Deposits in bank accounts opened under Jan Dhan scheme have crossed the Rs 1 lakh crore mark.
As per the latest finance ministry data, the total balance in over 36.06 crore Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts was at Rs 1,00,495.94 crore as on July 3.

Ukraine inaugurates world’s largest Metal Dome
Ukraine has inaugurated the world’s largest movable metal dome encasing the destroyed reactor at the infamous Chernobyl plant.
It is a 108-meter high dome which weighs 36,000 tonnes.
The Chernobyl nuclear power station was the scene of the world's worst civilian nuclear accident on April 26, 1986.
