Introduction

Combined defense Service or CDS Exam is one of the most sought After Exams if you want to pursue your Career in the Indian Defence. Since the CDS exam will take Place in November. Th ADmit card for CDS Will is Released 3-4 weeks before the Exam. UPSC or Union Service Public Commission organize CDS exam to Recruit Officer in Indian Air Force Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Military Academy & Indian Naval Academy. The CDS exam takes place twice a year in National LEvel. The first Cycle of UPSC CDS exam Takes place in February and Second in November.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Criteria (As on 17th May 2018)

Minimum Age:- 20 years

Maximum Age:- 25 Years

Educational Qualification

For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy-Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
 
For Indian Naval Academy - Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
 
For Air Force Academy-Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
 
In exceptional cases, the Commission may treat a candidate, who does not possess any of the qualifications prescribed in this rule as educationally qualified provided that he/she possesses qualifications, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission, justifies his/her admission to the examination.
 
More About Educational Qualification
 
  • Those who have yet to pass their degree examination will be eligible only if they are studying in the final year of degree examination.
  • Those who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of commission in the Defence Services are not eligible for admission.

Nationality

a Citizen of India, or
a subject of Bhutan, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 01st January 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India, or
a person of India origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire a, d Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India.

Physical Standards for UPSC 2018

The candidate who is applying for Different post of CDS 2018 should be Mentally and Physically fir in order to Meet the physical standard Guidelines as mentioned in the Official Notification.

 

Exam Pattern & Selection Process

The Selection Process for  UPSC CDS -II Consists of 3 stages:- 

  • Selection is based on written exam, interview & personality Test for the post of the Air force, IMA, INA & Officers Training Academy.
  • A Merit List is Prepared for the students who Qualified the Written Examinations and SSB Test. 
  • The final round of Selection is Based on the Medical fitness for All Available posts
Written Examination
For Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy-
The Exam for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Airforce Academy Consists of 3 Papers which carry total marks of 300. The total duration of Each Exam is 2 hours:-

For Officers Training Academy:-

The exam for Officer Training Academy (OTA)  Consists of 2 Subjects with a total of 200 Marks. The Duration of Two Exams is 4 Hours (2 Hours Each).

  • You have to visit the official website of UPSC to Apply for CDS-2 2018.
  • You Should Sumit only single Application.
  • Under the heading "Part-I" of the application form, fill in personal contact Information.
  • Select the Preference for the academies as per age & qualification.
  • the Registration ID Would be Generaled after this, you should then head to PArt II of the Application form.
  • Now review the Application Form.
  • Pay the Application fee.
  • Upload your Scanned Photograph and Signature as per the file Size & Dimensions in the Official Notification.
  • Click on the submit button. 
  • Take the Printout of the Application form for future Reference

Result

The CDS 2018 Result Date will be declared once the exam takes place. The CDS 2 exam is scheduled to take place on 18th November 2018. Hence, if you are an appearing aspirant then you must keep a check on the result date of CDS exam. 

  • Login into the Official website of UPSC.
  • Go to Results.
  • Select the optionsUPSC 2018 CDS-2 Results.
  • Fill the necessary details such as Registration ID and Date of Birth.
  • Click on submit.
  • check your Result Status Corresponding to your  Roll Number & Name.

Admit Cards

UPSC CDS 2 2018 Admit Cards will be issued 2-3 weeks before the exam. The link for the Admit Card will be Activated in the Official Website of UPSC. Where you can download  your CDS Call Letter by Login in with your Registration ID and Password.
