Introduction

IBPS conducts a common IBPS SO Exam across the country to fill SO vacancies in various banks that participate in this exam. Once you qualify, you are hired as a Specialist Officer in one of the participating banks as per your preference, merit and IBPS SO cut off. Different branches for the exam is being held are IT, HR, Agricultural Field, Rajbhasha, Marketing, and Law. If you are wondering about IBPS SO salary, then you should know that after you are selected as an IBPS SO, you will be getting a decent salary in the initial period of your service.
 
The basic pay will be Rs. 30,000 – 38, 000/-. On top of it, Dearness Allowances are also released by the banks on quarterly term based on the Consumer Price Index.
 
In the IBPS SO 2018 Exam, Every year there are 20 banks participating in the recruiting process. These are, Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India and Vijaya Bank. On being selected, you will be posted to any one of these banks on the basis of your preference and merit.

A candidate must be either -

 

(i) a Citizen of India or

(ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India

 

or

 

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued

  • Sectional Timing has been introduced in Prelims.
  • You have to qualify each test viz there is sectional & overall cut off.
  • There will be 0.25 penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.
  • You will have to appear for Prelims first.
  • You will then be selected for the Mains exam on the basis of your performance in the Prelims.
  • The Mains exam will consist of questions only from the Professional Knowledge
  • The Marks that you obtain in the Prelims exams will not be included in the final merit list.
  • The Marks that you obtain in the Mains will only be considered for shortlisting for Interview
 
Interview
 
  1. Upon clearing the written test, you become eligible for the interview.
  2. The interview is conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the nodal banks with the help of IBPS. The interview is of 100 marks.
  3. The minimum qualifying marks in an interview should not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
