SSC or Staff Selection Commission conducts the Scientific Assistants Exam in Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The SSC IMD Exam Takes place in 2 parts. There are Overall 3 criteria of eligibility that you need to fulfill to Apply for Scientific Assistant SSC 2017 exam. Check the details as mention below-
Age Limit ( as on 1st August 2017)
Minimum Age- 18 Years
Maximum Age- 30 Years
SC/ST- 5 Years
OBC- 3 Years
PH- 10 Years
Ex-Servicemen- 3 Years
10+2 with Physics & Maths as Core Subjects
Minimum 60% in Bachelors of Science with Physics as one of the subjects (must be of 3 years of duration).
3 Year Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
No Prior Experience Required
As per the Latest notice by IMD, the B.tech/B.E Degree holders are not eligible for Scientific Assistant. The candidates having a qualifying degree in the listed disciplines must be of 3 years duration after 10 + 2 exam.
The Selection Process of SSC Scientific Assistant will be through the Computer Based Test.
This test has 2 Sections Part I and Part II. Part I will be General Intelligence Level Whereas Part II will test specific subject related Knowledge. Part II of SSC scientific Assistant Will have three optional Subjects: Physics, Computer Science and Information Technology, Electronic And telecommunications. you have the option to Choose any 1 of the above 3 question paper in Part II.

But According to the latest notice states that 4-year B.Tech/B.E degree in relevant discipline is higher than the 3-year degree. Hence, the candidates are eligible for selection & appointment for the post of Scientific Assistant.
